More infantry teams

Got 8 more infantry teams done and should be ready to dip 4 more today.
2 on left are PTRD anti tank rifle teams, two on right are first 2 rifle teams

the next ones are all MG teams 2 standing caring it  and two down shooting with a loader

all vehicles assembled and color primed

I finished assembling the armored transports and planes then this afternoon I got all the color primed.
I primed the underside of all the planes with white and the canvas parts of the trucks with bone but otherwise everything else is army green.
so now I can get back down to just painting till the decals and large bases I ordered come in

Su-122's arrive! and 2 of the 4 boxes are missing stuff :(

welp I ordered direct from flames of war and ended up with a mess in a box
4 blister packs of Su-122, 2 of which have wrong hull..they are the hulls for su-85's(as far as I can tell) both the wrong hulls are missing the correct gun and didn't come wiht the incorrect guns either
so I have 2 out of 4 I can build.

I've sent customer service email about the mistakes..heres hoping
the tracks in these are plastic..tho I thought they'd be metal like the gun and bits..the resin hulls are very hmm crooked.
heres the underside ..the key for the plastic tracks don't align and the resin side with the single key isn't even close to being straight..i'm not sure if I should use greenstuff to full it in or try to sand down till its flat..not the kind of thing I'd figure you'd have trouble with from a tank
So far i'm not impressed with these assault guns at all.

forgot I never posted the last 5 SMG teams, as well I added some grass to the jeep bases.
While waiting for a new shipment of plastic rubble bases to come in I've just been assembling all the transports,armored transports, T34's and Stormovik IL-2.

The Zvezda Zis-5 transports and BA-10 armoured transports are pretty finicky to assemble..they're almost more like tiny models then miniature figures(they have engine blocks under the hoods for example)
But I got 10 Transports assembled, all 15 T-35's  and should have the rest of Ba-10's and planes done tomorrow.

Flames of War Soviet Jeeps

I got two more smg teams done and am working on the last 3  while doing those I've also been working on the jeeps and crews.
I got a couple builds that use 3 jeeps as transport for my 1iC, 2iC and Battalion Komissar.
I left the crews on the metal sprews and just painted and dipped them. Then Basecoated the jeeps.
I used a brown wash over the leather and cloth and black wash over the rest of the jeep. I'm trying to see how I like the results on vehicles of Dark shade dip(which Ill use on transport trucks) vs just wash's.

next I need to glue in the crews and then I'm gonna try some secret weapon weathering pigment "yellow earth"
I've never used pigments before but some videos make it look pretty straight forward..I'm gonna try to focus on the tires and wheel wells and the front grill and undercarage areas...see if some dusty dirt looks better then nice and clean.


so I got everything glued in..applied some pigment to the jeeps that looked really cool and dusty dirty look.
then I gave it a good coat of dullcote...and the pigment is about 80% gone...i think the varnish melted/soaked it up..

So I'm not sure if its a good idea but tomorrow I'm gonna try and reapply some pigment and then just give it a very light dullcote spray unlike my rather excessive normal.

I got the next 4 SMG teams finished up...I need to finish two more for tomorrow afternoons game and then I can move onto Mortar teams and anti tank guns.
I'm still waiting for another set of plastic rubble bases,largebases templetes and decals to come in to work on other teams and I need the decals to finish the tanks. I hope they come in this week.
The long delays in delivery is one the problems I have with ordering things thru the local store..I want to support them and buy stuff there. But it ends up taking 5  weeks get getstuff delivered that I can get in 2weeks for the same price ordering online...

got the next 5 teams painted dipped and glued down...just need to finish the base sand material then seal and flock

FOW SMG and Command Teams

I got some more Fow figures done..finished of the first 4 smg teams as well as the 2 HQ teams and the command SMG team.
I really like the price and proportions of these little plastic soldier company soldiers..but what Im not crazy about is just how easy it is to accidently break off the ends of  guns and fingers :( if you just put pressure on the wrong spot they fold over then crack off.
I tried adding a dab of red to the shoulder of the Officer and collars of the NCO for the command teams..I think it looks ok.

as well I got the first 8 tanks basecoated and 3 jeeps..2 gusts of wind launched them in the air then on the driveway so they have some very realistc weathering on a couple corners..

the next two smg teams,Heavy Mortar Command team observer team and Komissar team are all primed and ready for tomorrow.
