feral pants and armor

did some work on the highlights for the loincloth as well as the stiching.
as well used red/blackwash on the armor and applied a layer of gold.

did some work on highlighing the body fur and long fur of the feral..struggling with the paint beading up due to colored primer having glazed..frustrating but making due

feral detailing begins

used some washes to line the deepest edges of shadows and then started layering the shirt remains.
I like it so far.

I got hte univsrsal monsters essential collection for holloween and in it it has 8 Postcards of the original poster art for the movies.
I commented that they would look good in a picture frame..this is what I got for christmas..which being a complete Silver Cinema Geek I LOVE IT.!

pkaya almost done starting on Feral Warpwolf

so I finished up all the highlighting I was gonna do on pkaya. Gave her a testors Glosscoat and tomorrow ill give her a dullcoat then finish basing her.

In the meanwhile started basecoating the Feral Warpwof with basic colors..big figure should be fun and will probably take alot longer but I'm looking forward to it.

I think i needed deeper shadows for Laris but its a live and learn, time to move on :)

magnets finally came in Warpwolf assembly commencing!

So after waiting 2months for the local store to get some 1/8 x1/16 magnets in I finally got some online and the delivery cametoday.
So allday today has been magnetizing my 4 large beast kits. 2 for legion and 2 for circle
I got 1 carnivean and 1 feral warpwolf with the Hordes battlebox then bought one large warbeast kit for each faction so I can use any combo of 2.
when it was all said and done it ended up using 49 of the 50 magnets,but they're all done and can now prime and base and get to painting them.

Heres the pics of the parts for the warpwolves and after they're assembled.For the most part it all joins pretty good except a couple spots I could have done a bit better on if I knew better.

Epic Kaya Highlighting continued

I've done most of my highlighting and shading on ekaya its coming out ok.
definitely challenging to try and get things smooth and blending on such a small figure with so many inticate details.

uncertain if the hair is to white/grey now..was going for a medium brown...not sure if I shouldn't just make a straw colored wash to give it abit of ablond color.

haven't had much time to work on things this week but did get alittle bit more done.
ended up painting over the tiny armour around breasts and belt red then lightly detailing as good as I could with gold.
gave all the bronze a coat of gold to clean up the trim and then used redblack wash over all the red armor.
I think its looking better

did some orange brown leather highlighting on the shirt and pants then abit of sewer wash overtop for more shading.
gonna have to work on hightlights now ,,wash made it all bit to dark.

got most of the base coating done..started shading the cloak.

jsut working on basecoating eKaya and wanted to comment reaper paints are fantastic! after two coats of some mystery flesh color the detail is very clear and its nice and smooth.

Winter Argus completed and an Army update

So got everything gloss coated and 20hr dry then dullcoated and based and dried. Heres the final product and a quick pic of everything together to see how the themes working.

Epic Kaya begins

I'm just waiting to get a can of Gloss Clearcoat to finish basing the Winter Argus and in the meantime i'm moving onto eKaya.
Here she is ..let the painting commence!

so finished putting a red-black wash over the armor which I think helped abit..its subtle but better. I added gold layer over the bronze as well, trying to just stick to the upper parts.

finished highlighting the claws and cleaning up lips abit I think the claws work..they look like my dogs heh.

Also finished the leather straps and all the steel rings and rivets. Did abit of work trying to clean up the last of the streaks from the wash on the fur.
I think I'm gonna skip trying to add a highlight to the red part of the armour
I think its done except sealing and basing.

got some more washes done little secret weapon sewer water on the back then a light black wash  overtop the
some minor highlighting with my mystery free paint from reaper.

Reaper Delivery Arrived!

Great news my small reaper order arrived! Yah!

but one of the brushes I was waiting for is out of stock  Boo!
But they thru in a free sample of paint I didn't pay for! Yah!
 but its not labled so I can't be sure which paint it is...DOH!
Heres the mystery color..now to figure out which paint color it actually is!.

so did abit of detailing and tried an orange brown wash.

So i'm not sure how I should do this so I'm just kinda freeform laying colors to try and get an effect.
this is one of the pictures I'm using as a guide.

so right now its very sloppy and i'm just trying to build up some colors like this..

after this I'm thinking of trying a wet drybrush tecnique that short brushstrokes in single direction to blend the colors and make it look more like fur/hair.
experimenting on lid like this.

if it works should be good.if not I'm might just have to strip t all off and start over :)
